Instructions for DC, MD, VA
SETTING UP UTILITIES
As a tenant moving into a new home, your first step should be to set up your utilities! Below you'll find different instructions on how to do this in DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
PRACTICE
AREAS
WASHINGTON DC
Electric - Pepco
In order to set up Pepco services tenant must:
1. Call Pepco: 202-833-7500
OR
2. Set up services online (5 business days to complete). To set up services online tenant must:
a. Visit Pepco website
b. Choose DC or MD
c. Scroll down and enter all the information
d. On “Do you own this property?” click “NO”
e. When it asks for “Landlord information” enter our PM information:

Gas - Washington Gas
In order to set up Washington Gas services tenant must:
1. Call Washington Gas: 703-750-1000
OR
2. Set up services online (This needs to be done at least 72 hours before your move-in date). In order to set up services online tenant must:
1. Visit Washington Gas website
2. Click on “Submit”
3. Enter your housing information
4. Enter your personal information
(If landlord information is requested, please enter the information for Washington Tenants)

VIRGINIA
Electric - Dominion Electric
In order to set up Dominion Electric services tenant must:
1. Call 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357)
OR
2. Set up services online (5 business days to complete). To set up services online tenant must:
a. Visit the following link
b. Fill out the fields on this page
In order to fill out the necessary information you will need to have your full legal name, SSN, email address, and New Street Address on hand.
Water - Arlington
Arlington residents should set up an account with Arlington County Water. The water account needs to be set up by our organization. Before we can do this, we need the following information from the person who will be taking over the payment of the water bill:
a. Full name
b. SSN
c. Phone Number
d. Email Address
Please log into tenant portal to provide this information. : You will get a confirmation email back within a few days to let you know that you service has been put into your name on your lease start-date.
Gas - Washington Gas
In order to set up Washington Gas services tenant must:
1. Call Washington Gas: 703-750-1000
OR
2. Set up services online (This needs to be done at least 72 hours before your move-in date). In order to set up services online tenant must:
1. Visit Washington Gas website
2. Click on “Submit”
3. Enter your housing information

Water - Alexandria
Alexandria residents should set up an account with Virginia American Water. In order to set up services, tenant must:
1. Call Virginia American Water: 1-800-452-6863
Provide basic information: Name, contact information, address, move-in date, etc.
MARYLAND
Electric - Allegheny Power
In order to set up Allegheny Power Services tenant must:
1. Call 1-800-255-3443
OR
2. Set up services online.
Electric - BGE
In order to set up Allegheny Power Services tenant must:
1. Call Phone: 410-685-0123 or, Toll-Free: 800-685-0123
OR
2. Set up services online.
Electric - PEPCO
In order to set up PEPCO Power Services tenant must:
1. Call Phone: 202-833-7500 (Customer Service) or Phone: 202-872-2000 (General Information)
OR
2. Set up services online.
Gas - Washington Gas
In order to set up Washington Gas services tenant must:
1. Call Washington Gas: 703-750-1000
